Veterans Day and Home Care

On this Veterans Day I want to  take a moment to honor those who served our country.   Many of our veterans are now seniors in need of home care and who deserve all of the respect and the best care that they can get. There is a federal program that can provide some level of assistance for some veterans and their spouses in the comfort of their own home. It is called the Aid and Attendance benefit and in order to qualify for veteran care from this program, the individual will need to have served in active duty in one of the major military branches for at least 90 days, with one of them being during a time of war.  You don’t have to have served in a combat situation but you must have been honorably discharged from their service.  There are certain financial criteria which must be met as well.   Click here for the website to find our more about this benefit and how to apply.
